Telexistence is looking for an experienced leader who can drive cross-discipline product development, fully owning the roadmap of systems and apps development for our logistic robotics product. The systems and apps engineering team designs, builds & tests some applications for Telexistence’s logistic robots. As Head of Systems and Apps, you will be responsible for planning and leading the design, architecture, testing & integration of those applications. You will also work cross-functionally with the Robotic Control team, Hardware Development, Production, and Business Operations teams to ensure alignment between departments. The right candidate will have in-depth software engineering experience as well as the capability to deliver through a team. Responsibilities
- Lead our logistic robotics system projects, especially the logistics robotics service management backend system on the cloud, web applications to manage the robotics service, Mobile/PC App to control the robot.
- Create and execute the systems development roadmap, aligning software milestones and development with company-wide plans, goals and strategies.
- Work cross-functionally with other product development departments to ensure alignment and timely delivery of the products.
- Overlooking the entire TX system and applications, allocating appropriate tasks and resources, and performing various management tasks associated with this.
Requirements
- Professional experience for more than 5 years in SaaS and/or Web system product development with leading an engineering team and delivering results through a team
- In-depth experience with full-stack software engineering, requirement definition, and development
- Ability to communicate effectively in Japanese and English.
- Professional Experience of development of robotics or related IoT solutions as a backend engineer (or equivalent experience in SaaS and/or Web system product)
- Knowledge of gRPC and REST API implementation on .NET and node js on the server side, C++/C# for the client side
- Experience with production service management using .NET for web service, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB
- Experience with Amazon Cloud Service or Microsoft Azure (Azure is better)
Preferred Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Knowledge of network programming, especially specification/implementation of webRTC (not just how to use SDK but how to implement, knowledge about the protocol stack. E.g. how to establish a connection via TURN server, how it works over NAT)
- Experience with IoT system low-level software development (combination of hardware control and application development)
- Development experience with Unity3D
- Experience with cloud system management using Kubernetes
Although the applications we develop are B2B, the users are no different from those in the B2C market. Therefore, development must focus on the user experience. In particular, since robots operate the system, safety must be taken into consideration. UI/UX design to prevent user operation errors is important, and proper testing is required to prevent bugs
Additional Requirements
- Position Location will be at Telexistence’s Headquarters Office (Harumi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) or another location designated by the company.
