Product Manager, Global Data Services

Visa is looking for a product manager who can lead the development and management of foundational core payment data for Visa. This position will report to Senior Director of Global data services under Global Data Office. As a product manager for core payment data, you will be responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for one of Visa's most valuable data assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, business intelligence, privacy, and governance, to deliver high-quality data products that enable various use cases across Visa. You will also engage with business stakeholders to understand their pain points, gather feedback, and communicate value propositions. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of payment data and drive innovation at Visa.

 

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement product strategies for foundational payment data assets consistent with business needs and company vision

  • Manage the core payment data product backlog and roadmap, aligning with the overall data strategy and business objectives.

  • Spearhead the transformation of data systems, embracing cloud solutions to enhance scalability, agility, and cost-effectiveness

  • Work closely with Data Science and AI/ML teams to understand their data requirements, ensuring foundational data assets are optimized for model training and deployment

  • Experiment with new tools and technologies that can further enhance the capabilities and performance of our data assets

  • Communicate the core payment data product vision, value proposition, and roadmap to internal stakeholders, including senior executives, and business partners.

  • Collaborate with global and regional partners to understand market-specific needs ensuring our foundational data assets are tailored to support local and global business requirements

  • Collaborate with privacy and governance teams to ensure that the core payment data products comply with relevant policies, standards, and regulations.

  • Support the migration of users and applications to abide by compliance requirements and facilitate the adoption of core payment data products across Visa.

  • Liaise with other business units, product leaders, engineering and other applicable groups to ensure flawless execution

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications
- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- 3+ years of experience in business or technical product management with strong data engineering or data science background
- Strong product development skills with a sound understanding of payment technology and other ecosystem requirements
- Prior experience with managing data product development in the banking or payments industry with an understanding of payments industry data is a plus
- Experience with Big Data & Cloud technologies, Hadoop, Databases and SQL
- Experience with agile and lean methodologies, and experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with engineers, analysts, and business partners
- Excellent communication skills with organizational and leadership abilities to influence, negotiate and drive results
- Aptitude to collaborate with engineering teams to build robust, reliable and scalable payment solutions
- Ability to think creatively to solve problems
- Experience and knowledge of Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices
- Advanced degree desirable

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 113,700.00 to 163,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
