The Role

We are looking for a Fincrime Product Manager to join Plum in the Athens office and lead our Financial Crime Prevention squad. You’ll be expected to deeply understand the landscape of financial crime, the regulatory challenges, and the needs of our users to ensure their money is safe while they build their wealth.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing our transaction monitoring, anti-money laundering (AML), anti-fraud, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. This position is vital to protecting our users and ensuring Plum adheres to regulatory standards across our markets. You will be a crucial part of the Product team, working closely with data, engineering, design, operations and compliance teams.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the Fincrime Squad at Plum, driving the development and implementation of advanced fraud prevention, AML, SCA, and KYC strategies.
  • Optimise transaction monitoring and KYC processes to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and minimise risk.
  • Manage the P&L related to financial crime prevention, collaborating with data and compliance teams to reduce fraud and enhance customer trust.
  • Identify new risks and opportunities, launch experiments, and iterate on solutions to stay ahead of emerging financial crime threats.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer behaviour and the competitive landscape to enhance our security features and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Drive the planning process and roadmap prioritisation for your team, aligning with Plum’s overall OKRs.
  • Work closely with your Group PM and other PMs to define and construct a long-term strategy for fraud prevention and compliance across Plum’s products.

Ideally, you are someone who:

  • Has proven experience building and managing financial crime prevention systems in the UK and/or Europe, particularly within a fast-growing fintech or financial institution.
  • Has hands-on experience with transaction monitoring, AML, anti-fraud measures, SCA, and KYC processes.
  • Is able to manage a team of engineers, speak their language, and communicate compliance needs in a constructive & timely way.
  • Is fluent with data, you can ground your thinking in analysis, and constantly drive actionable insights from numbers.
  • Can think critically and challenge the status quo, possessing the resilience to drive improvements in our anti-fraud and compliance measures.
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity, a fast learner who is humble and curious, and enjoys developing yourself and those you work with.
  • Has an ability to constantly learn - depth in understanding local regulations and regulatory frameworks - keeping up to date with industry trends
