Bionic Services Ltd is hiring a

Product Manager, Energy

London, United Kingdom
Full-Time

At Bionic, we're making it radically easier to run a small business. We do this by combining smart technology with world class human service, to match business owners with the right energy, finance, insurance, and telecoms solutions – giving customers an experience that they can’t get anywhere else, and one that’s so good that they don’t want to.

We partner with leading price comparison websites, including Compare the Market, MoneySuperMarket, Uswitch, and Confused.com, who trust us to provide their business energy switching services.

About the role

As the Product Manager for our Energy Upper Funnel squad, your core focus will be improving the conversion performance and customer experience of our energy journeys. The energy proposition is at the heart of our mission to make life radically easier for British SMEs, delivering a customer experience that is stand-out better than the competition and delivering great outcomes for customers and Bionic alike.

You’ll work collaboratively with the rest of the Upper Funnel Squad – including the User Experience team, Engineers, Data Analysts, Commercial and Sales stakeholders - to identify opportunities to improve performance and deliver better outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to continuously learn and discover new insights, and you’ll enjoy creating hypotheses and validating them through testing and research.

You’ll be running and refining the ceremonies for your team, working alongside your colleagues in Tech to build great products based on quantitative and qualitative data inputs – whilst protecting speed to market. The roadmap you create and prioritise, will guide you and set the vision and ambition for your team which will be aligned with the company’s broader strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Run agile team ceremonies, stand ups, refinement, retro, planning, 3Amigos, grooming, showcase, sprint reviews etc
  • Optimise and improve ceremonies to drive team efficiency and development of working practices
  • Track velocity and ensure the team is spending the right amount of effort on certain types of work (e.g. not ignoring tech debt / doing too much of it)
  • Write tickets, size and refine based on input from the team / relevant stakeholders
  • Preparing sprints, setting sprint goals
  • Creating a healthy and maintained backlog of opportunity
  • Work with the Commercial teams to build healthy, ambitious relationships with our energy partners, find pragmatic routes to build complex solutions at speed and understand, maintain and optimise performance on an ongoing basis
  • Prioritising backlog based on sound logic / methods to ensure value is delivered at the earliest opportunity
  • Develop roadmap of opportunity areas aligned with broader pillar & business objectives, strategy & outcomes
  • Understand and plan sequencing of work and alignment of key resources, working with key stakeholders across the business
  • Create and track KPIs which outline success for the programme of work, aligned to key milestones
  • Analyse funnel performance to provide quantitative inputs into prioritisation and sequencing of work

Requirements

You’ll sit within our Product community and alongside the Senior Product Manager for the Energy Tribe. You’ll be the lead Product Manager for our Upper Funnel team working on strategic and tactical roadmap delivery to improve conversion and efficiency.

Outside of Product, the Commercial and Sales & Service teams will be key stakeholders, as the product you’re building directly benefits them – they’re as much your customers as the SMEs using our propositions.

Customers will be at the heart of your decision making, in addition to this, you’ll also demonstrate:

  • Ability to face into a challenge and drive through ambiguity
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence and be a leader without authority
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Prior experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Organisational skills with the ability to manage your own time effectively
  • Initiative, you’re able to keep things moving in a positive direction
  • Willingness to provide and receive constructive and positive feedback

The interview process

  • Initial conversation with our Talent Acquisition Team
  • 1st stage interview with the Hiring Manager
  • 2nd stage task-based interview with some of the wider team
