Product Manager, Applied Data Science

Job overview:

Omada is reimagining virtual-first care for pre-diabetes, diabetes, hypertension, and musculoskeletal conditions, taking into account personal context and comorbid health conditions. As an Applied Data Science Product Manager, you will work across teams at Omada to understand the opportunities they are working on and to propose, scope, and help implement the appropriate solutions that your team builds. You will be responsible for building and maintaining your team’s backlog of applied data science solutions, sizing opportunities, deciding buy/build solutions and more. Your job, in partnership with engineering, is to identify key opportunities and create re-usable solutions that Omada teams can use to drive outsize impact by delivering hyper personalized experiences at scale. You will articulate the vision and steps to get there, and help your team set achievable, measurable, milestones that unlock value at each phase of development.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with engineering, product, design, clinical, care delivery, member insights, and data science to identify the biggest opportunities, prioritize projects, build new capabilities, and measure their impact. 

About you:

  • 5+ years of a combination of market and/or product strategy, product management, general management, software development, consulting, product or business operations experience
  • 3-5 years of AI/ML product management experience 
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML to personalize products and build efficient workflows 
  • Passionate about building scalable & re-usable platform technology solutions based on a keen understanding of the problem and right solutions to solve it. 
  • You have strong technical skills with the ability to dive under the hood and rework structural elements to deliver it
  • You love digging into complex systems and solving technical challenges
  • You have a history of consistently delivering results against target metrics 
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and have a knack for solving problems with limited resources
  • You are a strong writer and clear communicator
  • You are collaborative, and able to drive alignment in a group of stakeholders
  • You are a great listener, and you ask good questions. You aren’t satisfied with answers like, “It’s how we’ve always done it.” You keep asking “Why?” until you really understand. 
  • You are comfortable analyzing data and leading research/discovery efforts to understand a problem space, identify opportunities, and propose solutions
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience 
  • Prior experience at a healthcare company a plus

Your impact:

In this role, you will directly contribute to building and delivering hyper personalized data driven experiences for our members and care teams.  You’ll evolve how we gather and process explicit and implicit data to personalize each member’s health journey, and have an opportunity to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of care team tools along the way. Your impact will touch members, care teams, content delivery, connected devices, and more. 

You will also: 

  • Be accountable for a subset of team metrics 
  • Work with engineering to prioritize and manage the team’s backlog
  • Write clear product specs 
  • Work with data to ask questions, understand analyses, and evaluate whether our tests and projects were successful
  • Define and monitor model efficiency, accuracy, drift and other key metrics
  • Be the subject matter expert for current and evolving AI regulations especially related to safety, bias, etc.

Below is a summary of compensation ranges for this role in the following geographies:

California, New York State and Washington State Ranges: $149,600 - $187,000, Colorado Compensation Ranges: $134,640 - $168,300.

Range is indicative of On Target Earnings (OTE) and includes both base pay and commission at 100% achievement of established targets. Base salary is approximately 75% - 80% of total compensation range. This role is also eligible for equity grants. The actual offer, including the compensation package, is determined based on multiple factors, such as the candidate's skills and experience, and other business considerations.
