What is the role all about?
Please note, this is a temporary role for 12 months initially.
The Product Lifecycle Engineer plays an important role in our business and is responsible for life cycle management of our products. As Product Lifecycle Engineer you have a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many people, around the globe. By securing that our product documentation is up-to-date and connected, you make sure that we can sell our products to the many people. With this in the center of the assignment, IKEA provides great opportunities to learn, develop and grow with this assignment as well as IKEA.
To succeed in your role, you need to be able to take and give responsibility, lead yourself and work together with stakeholders from different functions and departments throughout our organisation.
So, in short you are going to work with the following areas:
Work in SolidWorks to create CAD and 2D drawings
Manage technical product documentation including CAD in our PLM system Windchill
Secure that technical product information is up-to-date and according to IKEA documentation guidelines and standards
Take a big responsibility for the legal compliance marking of the products
Collaborate with stakeholders across the IKEA organization as well as suppliers
You are an Engineer in the beginning of your career, with a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. If you are having some experience in working with product documentation or technical administration, it´s a plus.
Your knowledge in 3D drawings, SolidWorks and Windchill will be considered as an added advantage. You work in a structured way with analytical skills and to take the lead in your own work, as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders.
Furthermore, you have strong communication skills and building good relations based on trust. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and written.
