THE POSITION

FanDuel is looking for a Product Director to define and drive our New Ventures Products. The role sits within the FanDuel Flywheel & New Ventures org and will be solely focused on assessing, building and delivering new venture opportunities. Working closely alongside commercial and engineering partners you’ll ideate, draft and build new venture products that can meet FanDuel’s Flywheel’s goals of deepening engagement with existing customers and opening up new customer acquisition opportunities. 

The product director is responsible for setting the vision and roadmap for their area and for communicating this across all participants and stakeholders. The role includes ensuring the planning , prioritization and execution of a broad range of products. Expect to have 2-3 completely new ventures released in your first year. You’ll need to be customer obsessed, willing to spend time with the customers. Alongside the VP of Product, you’ll derive the Strategy for your team, formulate key results and track performance against them. Teamwork is key and commercial, product and engineering alignment will be crucial.  

What We Expect: 

  • Experience in launching completely new products to market. You are a champion of a MVP concept, distilling the product down to what is desirable, viable and feasible
  • Work closely with commercial and engineering partners to achieve the companies’ high expectations
  • Lead a team of product managers and product owners to be focused on achieving our products goals 
  • You’ll have experience in emerging regulated markets and can work closely with our legal and compliance teams to ensure we win with integrity
  • Be comfortable “being hands-on” in the details
  • You should have the technical ability to understand software, mobile apps and e-commerce
  • Simplify complex concepts, articulate and explain your thoughts affectively, question to gain insights and understand different point of views
  • Have great communication skills and find common ground across different types of stakeholders 
  • Build and maintain solid productive relationships with team members, users, customers, stakeholders, etc. in person or remotely
  • Build, experiment and iterate on features that will be translated to product enhancements
  • Craft a strong user experience for our users
  • Be the voice of the customer - helping define innovative solutions to consumer & business problems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to scope, design, concept test and deliver innovative solutions

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Design and launch a portfolio of consumer-facing, high-volume products, driving exceptional results 
  • Evaluate suppliers and partner with teams to make build vs buy decisions
  • Identify, shape, and ensure execution of new products and product initiatives via the Product Roadmap 
  • Ensure transparency and alignment on the roadmap across the group, bridging the gap between product and other functions 
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and operational functions to ensure successful product deliveries and launches 
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute post-launch optimizations and improvements 
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products 
  • Establish and maintain domain expertise on the product, market, and competitors 
  • Play an active supporting role to Product Managers, especially with refining and managing the product backlog/roadmap 
  • Manage and grow a team of product managers, while also expanding existing product work streams

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelor’s degree required  
  • 8+ years’ experience in product management 
  • 4+ years’ experience managing a team of Product Managers or similar role 
  • Experience with building and managing new teams across multiple time zones 
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry with compliance considerations is strongly desired 
  • Previous experience with high-volume B2C ecommerce is preferred 
  • Previous experience in betting/gaming industry is preferred 
  • Proven track record of delivering successful and innovative products 
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects while effectively balancing scope, resourcing, time, and quality 
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability for goals and deliverables 
  • Demonstrated success cross-functionally influencing teams without formal authority  
  • Strong quantitative skills  
  • Excellent critical thinking skills  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

The applicable salary range for this position is $166,000 – $207,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
