Position Overview
We are seeking talented mid-weight Product Designer(s) to join our growing design team. You will work closely with our simulation engineers, data scientists and customers to develop an understanding of the physics and engineering challenges we are solving. As a member of our design team, you will play a pivotal role in developing AI and ML solutions for design engineering applications, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation in our products. You will also work closely in 2D/3D spaces, translating complex ideas into intuitive and visually compelling designs. This role requires a creative thinker with a strong eye for detail, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively design for expert users in enterprise contexts.
What you will do
- Conduct user research to gain insights into user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
- Translate user research findings into actionable design solutions that address user needs and business objectives.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and user interactions.
- Collaborate closely within cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of design initiatives.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback, user testing, and data analysis to continually improve the user experience.
- Design for expert users and enterprise solutions, understanding the complexities and nuances of these environments.
- Maintain and evolve design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across our product(s).
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually enhance design processes and deliverables.
What the ideal candidate looks like
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design projects.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Dovetail, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
- Experience conducting user research and translating insights into actionable design solutions.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices, with the ability to design intuitive and engaging user experiences.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and defend design decisions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, with a proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Experience designing for expert users (e.g., Mechanical Engineers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers) in enterprise situations is a plus.
- Experience in data science / machine learning is a plus
- Experience working in 3d design (e.g., Houdini, Blender, Unity3D) is a plus
