🙌 Your mission

Your mission will be to stay on the cutting edge of our user experience, modern design trends in payments to design a world class experience for our customers. You will be leading the charge for UX and Product Design for the NALA App, used by over X people around the world. You will be the sole Product Designer joining a team of 7 including 2 Backend Engineers, 1 QA, 3 Frontend Engineers and a Product Manager (that we are currently hiring for). You will be a champion of our customers, ensuring that what we build delights them every step of the journey.

🎯 Your responsibilities in this role

  • You’ll get to know NALA customers, building empathy and a deep understanding of their needs. This extends to beyond just what their needs are when it comes to using the NALA app, but also why they send money and the stories that have led them to this space
  • You’ll be using your full range of Product Design skills to discover, design and deliver simple, beautifully crafted experiences that customers love, including the words, images, flows and how they all come together to for a unified experience.
  • You will be working really closely alongisde the Product Manager and the Customer Support team to ensure that your finger is firmly on the pulse of what our customers like and don’t like.
  • You designs will be competing against our many competitors! We want you to develop a deep knowledge of the competitive landscape and help us create meaningfully differentiated experience to give our app that creative competitive edge

Requirements

🔥 Must have job requirements

  • Proven experience shipping a breadth of high-quality consumer product features at a Fintech or Payments company
  • A portfolio with your latest projects, alternatively to present 2 case studies of your best work
  • At least 3-5 years of full-time Product Design experience
  • At least 1-3 years of Consumer Mobile Design experience
  • Experience within the fintech sector or similar - remittance, payments, digital wallets, etc.
  • Extremely user-focused mindset
  • Experience working in small scappy teams. You are happy to move quickly with a sense of urgency and would rather not deal with red tape!
  • Be an expert user of Figma, not just in creating the necessary assets, but also building a design framework that makes future design easier and more streamlined.

💪 Nice to have job requirements

  • Designing experiences for consumers product
  • Familiarity with creating interactive prototypes
  • Experience with user testing, collecting user feedback and translating it into requirements
  • Experience running design Workshops/Brainstorming sessions and work in design sprints
