Job Title: Product Design Manager (12-month FTC)

We’re looking for an experienced and skilled Product Design Manager to join Gymshark’s Digital Product Design team on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract. In this vital role, you will serve as the cornerstone of a team of high-performance creatives, enabling our designers to do their best work and ensure seamless execution. You will play a significant role in defining new ways of working, continuously improving how we work and communicate within our team. You will also be responsible for spearheading the development and maturity of our design system—specifically owning the vision, strategy and planning to ensure it is set up to meets the ambitions of our digital ecosystem.

Your primary focus will be on design management and operations, ensuring smooth running processes and fostering effective communication within the team. You will collaborate across the business to help improve how we design at scale, guiding a talented group of product designers as they work on key initiatives that shape Gymshark's digital experiences.

You’ll be expected to bring your expertise in people management, operations, systems and leadership to help steer the team toward success. Above all, you’ll be part of Gymshark's culture—a place where we work hard, stay humble, and challenge the status quo.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Lead and Mentor: Manage a team of talented product designers, helping them grow and progress their careers. Provide clear development goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Problem Solving: Collaborate regularly with our Design Leads and Head of Design to review and improve design processes. You’ll be expected to pick up and solve emerging challenges, then develop best practices and provide clarity to the wider team.
• Design Ownership: Oversee designers embedded in independent product squads, guiding them in creating exceptional user experiences for Gymshark’s digital products.
• Champion Design Excellence: Advocate for great design and adoption of design practices, both within your team and across the business.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Build effective working relationships with other business functions to drive collaboration, productivity and shared success.
• Culture of Innovation: Foster a culture of open sharing, feedback and innovation within the design team.
• Design Systems: Advocate and oversee the development of our Design System, ensuring its maturity as well as team-wide adoption in actively contributing and maintaining cohesion across products.

WHAT YOU’LL HAVE

• Proven product design experience is a must— ideally with prior involvement in design for web & app experiences at scale.
• A clear understanding of product design processes, including design operations and scaling of design best practices.
• Skilled in industry standard design software including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with collaboration tools and management of projects through apps like Notion, Jira, etc. would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with design token frameworks or tools like Style Dictionary would be beneficial.
• Experience with Design System Management (DSM) tools such as Zeroheight or Storybook would be a plus.
• An understanding of development & handoff processes to ensure seamless collaboration, especially as we begin to integrate our design system into our products.
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset. Roll up your sleeves. Be nice to people and don't have 'that's not my job' in your vocabulary.

This is a hybrid role, we're located, GSIQ, Solihull, UK.
