The Team & Role 

We are hiring a Product Design Lead to lead our design team in crafting compelling, beautiful, customer-focused experiences for our SevenRooms platform and products. As a Product Design leader, you will be responsible for driving the overall design strategy, collaborating cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineers and other key stakeholders across marketing, brand, sales and customer success to elevate the visual design standards across our suite of products. This is a player/coach position and we are open to hiring this role as either Product Design Lead or Director, Product Design, depending on level of prior experience. This is a hybrid role and you will be expected to work out of our New York City office 2-3 times per week. You will report directly to our VP, Product. 

Product Designers at SevenRooms operate in a shared team, working alongside tenured members of the team with varied skill sets. We’ve built our product team up with the most creative, driven, and passionate entrepreneurs and foodies we could find. This team is incredibly collaborative, while having the independence to find their niche and have a large impact while doing so. What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of passionate product designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement 
  • Define and drive the product design, vision, strategy and roadmap in alignment with business goals and user needs 
  • Reimagine an industry-leading platform from a customer and design perspective with a team of passionate designers, resulting in a new UX/UI
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering, marketing sales, customer success and other key stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate them into a beautiful, customer-centric experience 
  • Oversee the end-to-end design process, from concept ideation and wireframing to mockups and prototypes  
  • Conduct user research and gather feedback to iterate on designs and enhance user satisfaction 
  • Establish and enforce design principles, standards and best practices to ensure a cohesive and consistent user experience across all SevenRooms products 
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, design tools and emerging technology to drive innovation in product design at SevenRooms 

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in product design, with experience across b2b and b2c
  • Experience redesigning UX/UI for an entire platform or suite of products
  • Demonstrated success in leading and growing high-performing design teams 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and deep understanding of design principles 
  • Proficiency in product and design tools such as figma, jira, pendo
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate and justify design decisions to stakeholders across the business including at an executive level
  • Degree or related experience in Design, Human-Computer Interaction or related field 
  • Interest in working with restaurants and hospitality a plus

    • The salary range for this role is $180,000-$187,500. This is the range SevenRooms in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed remotely in any US state. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also bonus eligible. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
