Our Product Design Engineers work on some of the most important things we need to change the future of manufacturing - electromechanical components and automation systems that enable safe part holding and quality welds. Our flexible backend system integrates robots, sensors, and other systems present in manufacturing and combines them with our cutting edge algorithms. You will report to our Hardware Engineering Manager and will join a team of dedicated, supportive, and enthusiastic people to help create the future of manufacturing. What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design and development of innovative automation products from concept to production
  • Create detailed 3D models, prototypes, and technical drawings using CAD software
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing to ensure product performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, manufacturing, and supply chain, to align design objectives with business goals
  • Work closely with international partners, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure design specifications are met
  • Communicate effectively with global teams to address design challenges, implement changes, and maintain project timelines
  • Travel internationally as needed to oversee production processes and ensure product quality
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of design milestones
  • Utilize project management tools to track progress, identify risks, and implement solutions
  • Ensure all products comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct design reviews, validation testing, and quality control assessments
  • Continuously improve design processes to enhance product quality and reduce costs

Who You Are

  • BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of automation equipment and/or consumer products
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, including structural and thermal FEA
  • Familiar with fixturing design for robotic welding and common materials and finishes used in robotic welding applications
  • Hands-on prototyping, machine shop, precision assembly experience
  • Experience with 6-axis robotic cells & EOAT
  • MIG welding & weld fixturing knowledge
  • Pneumatic and electrical system design experience
  • The ability to generate 2D drawings for manufacturing utilizing GD&T
  • General understanding of Power & Control systems
  • Familiar with PDM/PLM systems
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in international environments
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed
