At Visa, we are looking for a highly motivated Product Manager – AI/ML Platform, to join our team. As a global leader in payments technology, Visa has been a pioneer in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies successfully in our products and services in the last few decades. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping, implementing, and enhancing core AI/ML capabilities to enhance and elevate data science experience and power Visa’s flagship AI products.

This role will be an individual contributor to the global strategic roadmap specifically around creating a state-of-the-art AI platform by working with cross functional teams such as regional product, sales, consulting, operations, technology, risk, and analytics. This position may require occasional travel to client sites and Visa locations.
As a Product Analyst in the AI/ML platform product team, you will work closely with technology, data science, cross-functional products, and regional teams to prioritize, solve, develop, and implement industry leading AI/ML platform solutions and power key flagship Visa products.
Essential Functions
Comprehensive Product Requirements: Define thorough and precise product requirements that meet client and market needs and align with other Visa products and solutions.
Tech Team Collaboration: Support product leads during collaborations with the technology team to implement AI/ML capabilities and technologies that drive the delivery of high-profile core Visa AI products.
Platform Strategy & Roadmap Development: Identify market trends, and competitive landscape to support product roadmap development. Provide input to the platform roadmap, product positioning, market differentiation, and value proposition to resonate with key audiences and markets.
Grooming Sessions Contribution: Gain an in-depth understanding of product and model requirements in collaboration with cross-functional product, data science, and technology teams.
AI Design and Technology Discussions: Support with setting the acceptance criteria for requirements, engage in, and lead AI design and technology discussions.
Platform Success Metrics: Contribute to and monitor key platform success metrics, service level agreements, and operational targets.
Non-Technical and Functional Elements Contribution: Support with non-technical and functional elements critical to product success, such as model risk management, model onboarding experience, and ensure the technical development of the platform meets quality standards and timelines.
Prototyping and Business Case Development: Brainstorm, create prototypes, and collaborate with AI/ML teams to build business cases.
Cross-Functional Teams Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to finalize requirements and establish a clear path to delivery for various use cases.
Adaptability in AI/ML Landscape: Stay adaptable in the fast-paced AI/ML landscape, influencing the development of platform capabilities accordingly.
User Needs Understanding: Comprehend the AI/ML landscape and user pain points to translate them into clear user stories and convert them into an efficient, reliable platform for building, testing, and deploying AI models.
New Product Development: Product contribution and launch of new products and experiences at the intersection of payments and technology in the AI space.
Flawless Execution: Coordinate with other business units, product leaders, and engineering teams to ensure flawless execution.
Customer Experience Vision: Develop and promote a vision for an excellent customer experience powered by advanced AI technologies.
Primary Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements.
Product Requirements: Develop product requirements based on the product partners’ needs. This includes working closely with the engineering team to ensure the product is built to specification and meets the needs of our users.
Team Collaboration: Have a can-do mindset to collaborate and work with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and engineers. Eager to learn and follow a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with stakeholders across the organization, to keep them informed of several initiatives’ progress and to gather their input.
User Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of our users (data scientists) throughout the product development process. Ensure the final product meets their needs and enhances their ability to build, test, and deploy AI models.
Market Analysis: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, advancements in AI/ML, and emerging technologies. Use this knowledge to keep our product competitive, drive innovation and new product development.
Product Vision and Strategy: Contribute to and work with product leads on the vision and strategy for supporting partners’ portfolios and for developing applications for AI/ML platform. Define roadmaps, ensuring they align with the AI/ML platform’s and company's overall goals.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or an advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
- Strong understanding of AI and Machine Learning concepts, with an emphasis on AI models on batch and real-time environment.
- Data science, deep learning models and exposure to big data and broader AI/ML tools, platforms, and technologies
- Proficiency with software development methodologies such as Agile and experience working with Scrum teams and matrix organizations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interface across levels, regions, cultures, and languages, and engage successfully with both specialist teams and broader business partners.
- Strong ability to consume complex data and information, develop insights and create impactful stories.
- Prior experience working within an agile product development environment.
- Advanced proficiency in the use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or a PhD.
- Modeling experience in card industry or financial service company for fraud, credit risk, payments is a plus
- Experience in designing and taking products to market that use complex modelling techniques (inc. AI/ML).
- Experience in management and requirement provision for remote data science teams focused on AI/ML.
- Passion for innovating and delivering truly differentiated products & user experiences.
- An emphasis in product management, and eagerness to learn and manage new product releases being part of a matrix organization in a highly technical and evolving AI/ML space.
- Knowledge of machine learning or data processing algorithms for risk and fraud applications.
- Experience in financial services and payments desired, but not required.
- Experience partnering with technologists using agile or other expedited design and development methodologies.
- Working knowledge of agile tools such as Confluence Wiki, Tableau, and JIRA is strongly preferred.
