About the Team

Communications Design at OpenAI is responsible for telling our story—who we are, what we’re doing, and why it matters—to the world, through our website and everything else visual. Recently, we created an identity for and helped share the magical technology of DALL·E 2 to tens of millions of people through an interactive landing page on our website.

About the Role

As the first producer on our small team, you’ll oversee the execution of design and communications projects, collaborating with and enabling designers, developers, and other stakeholders to turn content ideas into finished deliverables on our website, blog, and beyond. You’ll own the “when” aspect of what we creatively produce, in addition to the “what” and “why.” You’ll even help define the role itself at OpenAI, rewriting our processes to make successful, impactful projects efficient and repeatable.

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Are an expert at managing multiple creative projects, of varying scope and timelines, from ideation to launch
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing and editing experience
• Have digital or editorial design experience
• Have created or managed guidelines for content and voice 
• Are familiar with website content management systems
• Are obsessed (in a healthy way) about organization and improving processes
• Care deeply about quality, aesthetics, and the humans we’re communicating to
• Are innately curious
• Enjoy (in fact, prefer) working quickly
• Have a way with words and craft every detail, down to the last punctuation mark
• Have a sense of humor (or a tolerance for bad puns)
