JOB SUMMARY
· Manage the Procurement function by ensuring that there is adherence to the approved company’s procurement policy, contracts, SLAs, and best practices in procurement operations, policies, procedures and processes.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee the coordination of procurement activities to ensure cost efficiencies.
· Communicate DCP’s overall objectives to subordinates and ensure mutual understanding of roles, responsibilities and accountabilities in the department.
· Ensure the alignment of department objectives with overall plant objectives.
· Oversee the use of approved systems/ framework to support alternative souring and the use of multiple vendors.
· Establish strategic relationships with vendors to achieve cost saving and optimal quality of all purchases.
· Resolve complaints from end user and vendor to escalate to the management where necessary.
· Assume overall responsibility for timely delivery and adherence to lead time.
· Monitor periodically outstanding orders, purchase requisitions and pending services to ensure availability of materials for operational need.
· Negotiate for best offers and terms and conditions on behalf of management.
· Ensure periodic evaluation and re-evaluation of vendors.
· Ensure strict adherence to DCP’s HSE policies and enforcement within the plant.
· Perform other tasks as assigned by the Country Manager.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supply or related discipline.
· Post graduate degree.
· Membership of any professional bodies will be an advantage.
· Minimum of Seven (7) years relevant work experience.
SKILLS & COMPETENCE
· Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry.
· Sound knowledge of DCP’s business operations, product and service offerings.
· Very sound business acumen – financial and commercial knowledge.
