Intracom Defense (IDE) is the leading defense company in Greece with significant international activity. IDE is currently looking for a strong negotiator for the role of Procurement Buyer to join the Purchasing Section of our Programs Management Department.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing bid specifications and issuing bid requests to several vendors and suppliers.
- Evaluating approved suppliers and negotiating price, delivery and quality of products.
- Sourcing new products and alternative suppliers.
- Negotiating with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations etc.
- Identifying and recommending opportunities that bring innovation, cost efficiencies and optimize service and quality.
- Solving problems regarding orders in an efficient and timely manner.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of proven working experience in Procurement or Supply Chain.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills both in English and Greek.
- Excellent use of MS Office, especially Excel.
Desired:
- Master’s Degree will be considered a plus.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
- Understanding of Hardware/Electronics is desirable.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP.
