Process Excellence and Quality Control Manager

Sr. Director, HPC Operations

The Job

The Process Excellence and Quality Control Manager is a key role responsible for driving process and operations improvement initiatives across the Data Center Services organization. You will be a central part of the organization and provide direction and leadership across multiple functional areas. Your expertise in process improvement and operational excellence will be critical in driving operational efficiencies, improving customer service and reducing costs. You will have the opportunity to partner with cross-functional stakeholders to create and implement effective process improvement solutions. You will be a key player in the success of the organization and will be an integral part of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, lead, conduct and follow up on workshops for process improvements related to critical data center operations.
  • Lead the creation and adoption of a full SOP library for HPC data center facilities services and operatons.
  • Ensure end-to-end process standardization across HPC data center locations and align to best practices in the industry.
  • Prepare Business Process Maps and models
  • Conduct Process Re-Engineering where needed
  • Provide consulting support to solve operations business (process) problems
  • Define and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform assessments/ gap analysis on existing and missing processes within the critical facilities and data center operations functional areas.
  • Transform conversations and working procedures into documented business outcomes
  • Plan and implement quality control tests of various HPC operations processes, including capacity management and reporting, change management and reporting, incident management and reporting, and infrastructure maintenance planning and execution.
  • Formulate reports on key findings.
  • Create required reporting for different projects and processes and present findings to management
  • Prepare, conduct, follow up & report on internal & supplier audits
  • Translate leading industry trends into competitive business advantages to be more profitable and sustain growth.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and drive related initiatives to completion.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, organizational development, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other Process Improvement/Management methodologies
  • Experience with Process Improvement in an IT or Mission Critical Data Center related role.
  • Working knowledge of the principles of statistical process control
  • Ability to apply company values to the execution of organizational strategy.
  • Continual improvement mindset.
  • Service orientation: A passion for maintaining the highest quality standards and a service-oriented attitude. 
  • Strong leadership skills: A self-starter who can excel in a team environment of an aggressively growing and dynamic enterprise. A team player who can build credibility with the leadership team and all IT personnel staff within the division and headquarters.

50% Travel within the United States

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office, warehouse, and data center environments.

Physical Demands

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, smartphones, ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts. 

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time, onsite position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. some nights and weekends are required.
