DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.  Evaluate engine components and weld processes, customer specifications, FAA regulations and/or approved technical data to ensure efficient operation of the processes supporting these programs. 
2.  Solve weld process problems and evaluate methods to improve processes economically without compromising the quality of the process and/or end product. 
3.  Review new weld repairs, new and/or existing programs and processes to improve quality, efficiency and turn time of components. Submit written process procedures to customers, engine manufacturers or FAA/DER for review and approval. 
4.  Provide technical support to sales. 
5.  Develop new repairs or processes and submit written proposals to the customer, engine manufacturer or for FAA/DER or EASA review and approval. 
6.  Ensure all testing required to control processes is being performed.
7.  Ensure that process quality requirements are being met and written procedures are established per FAA approved technical data and/or industry standards.
8.  Work together with CRT personnel to maintain a company safety program. 
9.  Work with the Purchasing department to procure any materials, equipment and supplies as necessary related to repair processes. 
10. Communicate with individuals and department groups, leads and others as necessary regarding repair processes and facility improvements as a member of the engineering team. 
11. Provide training and lead meetings, as necessary, to assure the qualification and certification of employees per company or industry standards as defined by FAA approved overhaul procedures, customer specifications and/or company policy procedures manual.  
12. Provide technical support for production to resolve process discrepancies, solve technical problems, revisions to documentation, and other technical needs for new part and/or process development. Design new or modify existing tooling and fixturing drawings/blue prints in coordination with engineers; product leaders; and operators.
13. The average work week for an engineer at CRT is not a typical 40 hour work week. Engineers work overtime and generally will work between 45-50 hours a week.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.  Communication skills – college level reading, writing, and conversational English. 
2.  Comprehend complex technical information. 
3.  Ability to organize and maintain records.
4.  Must have advanced knowledge in welding and other manufacturing processes. 
5.  Two/four-year technical degree (BS Chemistry, Materials, Welding, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent industry experience. 
6.  Must have a general understanding of all internal systems at CRT after the trial and orientation period. 
7.  Turbine engine component repair experience preferred.
8.  General knowledge of civil aviation regulations, engine/overhaul manuals, and/or other process manuals used to repair turbine engine components.
9.  Continuing education in related processes and technologies.
 
 WORK ENVIRONMENT
1.  This position has pre-employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
2.  Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
3.  Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift.
