Privacy Specialist

The Privacy Specialist will be an integral member of the Legal Team and Privacy Office. The responsibilities will include helping to manage data privacy initiatives across the company, contributing to the ongoing improvement of Telesign’s global privacy program, and assisting with the review and negotiation of data processing terms. The Privacy Specialist will play a crucial role in the assessment of products and systems for compliance with global regulations and the company’s own policies, relating to privacy, data protection and AI governance.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement frameworks, policies, and procedures relating to privacy, data protection and AI governance.
  • Implement, and operate information privacy best practices and procedures, including impact assessments.
  • Assist in the development, review and negotiation of data processing agreements, international data transfer agreements, and other contracts relating to data protection.
  • Develop and manage privacy and process documentation.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on compliance requirements.
  • Assist in responding to inquiries from clients and other external stakeholders regarding privacy and AI governance practices.
  • Research, monitor, and analyze changes in current and pending industry privacy standards and changes to applicable privacy laws and regulations.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in governance, legal, privacy or related professional experience.
  • Familiarity with relevant existing regulations and standards such as GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PIPL, as well as emerging regulations such as the EU AI Act.
  • Experience in online privacy or related field - Privacy certifications preferred (e.g. CIPP, CIPT, or CIPM).
  • Experience working for technology companies, in-house privacy teams, or consulting firms.
  • Experience managing large-scale cross-functional programs.
  • Experience with organizing projects, coordinating, multi-tasking, and process-improvements.
  • Clear succinct, persuasive, written and verbal communication.
  • Critical thinking skills, able to break down complex business and technical challenges into logical and actionable component.
  • Potentially to become hybrid next year, availability to go to the office once a week if necessary.
