About the Role:
As the Principal Technical Product Manager for Security at TiDB Cloud, you'll lead the strategy and implementation of comprehensive security features for our cutting-edge distributed database platform. You'll define security roadmaps, ensure global compliance, and collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to deliver seamless, user-friendly solutions. In this influential role, you'll also mentor junior TPMs and security engineers, promoting a culture of security excellence across the organization. You'll engage directly with customers and partners, gathering feedback to continually enhance our platform. Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the security strategy for TiDB Cloud, prioritizing key security features based on customer needs, market trends, and industry standards.
- Partner with engineering teams to design and implement robust security features, including authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing, and compliance capabilities. Collaborate with product management to gather customer security requirements and translate them into actionable product features.
- Ensure security features are seamlessly integrated into the TiDB Cloud platform, balancing security with usability.
- Lead cross-functional projects, managing timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely and high-quality execution.
- Mentor junior TPMs and security engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to build a strong, security-focused team.
- Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and best practices, incorporating them into the TiDB Cloud security roadmap.
- Engage with customers and partners to gather feedback on security features and identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s degree or higher preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in technical product management with a focus on security in cloud environments.
- Deep understanding of database security principles, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and compliance.
- Experience with cloud database platforms is a plus.
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects from concept to delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality security features in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.
- Passion for security and a commitment to staying current with the latest developments in the field.
