Principal Software Engineer (Gen AI Security)

Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is committed to AI security in the emerging AI era. The AI security cloud service engineering team is the core engineering team to build a solid product to assure the runtime security of our customers when they are using AI especially LLM services. 

Your Impact

• Collaborate with product managers, cybersecurity researchers, AI application researchers and infrastructure software engineers
• Work with different engineering teams on the AI solutions and evaluate different security architectures's userability and effectiveness
• Work with PLM on new feature requirement
• Design and build an innovative and solid products to ensure our customers can use AI service securely.
• Participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation and test

Your Experience

• Solid knowledge of major CSP’s LLM foundation models and its fine tuned models
• Knowledge of the architecture for AI applications
• Experience on building validation applications to research LLM models’ behaviors
• Experience analyzing API interfaces for major CSP’s LLM services 
• Solid programming skills on Golang/Python
• Deep knowledge with GCP platform is a plus
• The candidate should be a good problem solver
• Having a PhD. degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred or equivalent military experience required

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $144,200/yr to $233,200/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
