What are we looking for?
We're looking for a Principal SEO Manager to join the Skyscanner SEO team on a 12 month FTC. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the global SEO strategy, ensuring alignment across verticals, regions and content strategies. Your mission will be to maximise organic growth by driving innovation and consistency across all SEO efforts, leveraging data-driven insights and strategic planning to enhance our on-page efforts and deliver measurable results.
What will you be responsible for?
Strategy Lead for the Content Pillar (On-page)

Develop and lead the global SEO content strategy - Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, Localisation and other SEOs to define and execute a cohesive global approach to content creation and optimisation across all verticals and regions, with a focus on scalability.

Long-tail content optimisation - Identify and enhance long-tail content opportunities using scalable technologies to drive incremental traffic and meet user intent.

Vertical roadmap planning - Collaborate with vertical leads across car hire, hotels and flights to design and deliver SEO roadmaps that align with overarching business goals.

Diversification - Lead the diversification efforts by identifying new SEO opportunities and engaging the right stakeholders and partners to execute against those.

Grow our priority markets across regions - Alongside the global efforts, support the regional SEO leads to identify market-specific opportunities and optimisations, and ensure alignment with the global efforts.
Experimentation and Data-driven Decision Making

Experimentation - Oversee the prioritisation and execution of SEO experiments, ensuring a culture of hypothesis-driven testing and data-driven decisions.

KPIs - Monitor and analyse performance metrics to continuously improve the effectiveness of SEO initiatives.
Leadership and Team Management

Team management - Mentor a team of SEO professionals, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and excellence.

What skills are we looking for?

Proven Experience in SEO - Extensive track record in leading large-scale SEO strategies for a global, complex, and fast-paced organisation.

Strategic Mindset - Strong ability to align SEO initiatives with business objectives, supported by a clear vision and actionable roadmaps.

Stakeholder Management - Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple teams in an Agile environment.

Project Management - Strong organisational & project management skills, including the ability to create and manage roadmaps & backlogs is essential.

Communication - Strong written & verbal communication, with ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, diverse & geographically spread team environment.

Content Expertise - Deep understanding of content strategy, particularly in long-tail keyword optimisation and scaling content across multiple verticals.

Collaborative Leadership - Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with vertical and regional teams, driving alignment and ensuring consistency.

Data-Driven Decision Making - Expertise in using analytics tools and data insights to shape strategy and measure success. Tools include Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMRush, Tableau, KwFinder and SEOClarity (or similar equivalents).

Business Tools - Proficient in Microsoft Office & Atlassian (Miro, Confluence, Slack, JIRA).

Team Management - Proven success in mentoring high-performing teams.
