For our international R&D team (consisting of Software, Hardware and Clinical Application Engineers) based in Munich, we are looking for an experienced Software Engineer. Working as part of a highly skilled, agile team you will maintain and develop one of Brainlab’s core products, ExacTrac Dynamic, an in-room patient positioning and monitoring system for high-precision radiotherapy treatments. This system works with a revolutionary new thermal-surface camera technology in tandem with X-ray tracking. Thousands of patients around the world are positioned and monitored by the ExacTrac Dynamic system and its predecessors every day, allowing them to be treated effectively.
As a Principal/Senior Software Engineer in our team, you will
- develop future versions of our ExacTrac Dynamic software from the very first idea until the final product launch in one of our cross-functional, agile Scrum teams
- work as full-stack developer with a focus on application backend (C++) and software design/architecture
- drive continuous improvements of our software design and software quality with respect to extensibility and scalability
- be a part of the entire development process (requirements analysis, design, implementation, documentation, testing, bug-fixing and release)
- share your knowledge and provide technical guidance to your colleagues in- and outside of the team
- preferably you have a degree in Computer Science or an equivalent education / working experience
- 5+ years professional experience in object-oriented software development (preferably C++)
- profound knowledge of OOP and design patterns
- strong analytical skills for bug analysis and architectural decisions
- you want to be part of a highly skilled team and make a difference with your code every day
- you consider software engineering as your core competency and want to work on all levels of software development (full-stack developer)
- basic knowledge and experience with ReactJS, TypeScript and CSS would be beneficial
- excellent communication and collaboration skills (fluent English, German is a plus)
