About the Role:

The Principal Product Manager will lead the optimization efforts for our shared payment platform, with a focus on improving user experience, improving payment rates, and maintaining stability and compliance. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Management, this role will be central to achieving our goal of enabling a highly available, secure, and feature rich customer payment experience across all of Self Financial’s products and services.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the optimization efforts for our shared payment platform, with a focus on improving user experience, improving payment rates, and maintaining stability and compliance. 
  • Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to a short term and long term product roadmap.
  • Acts as payments SME on features and services, specifically how payments and money movement works. Communicate payment intricacies with Execs and colleagues
  • Inform product decisions with quantitative and qualitative data on customer behavior and experimentation to prioritize your roadmap (e.g. a/b testing, survey data, usability studies).
  • Help drive execution with the engineering team to prioritize competing tactical and strategic items into a backlog. Drive planning, story prioritization and product backlog grooming
  • Partner with risk, compliance, marketing, engineering, design, analytics and operations teams to build software collaboratively and inclusively
  • Contribute to technical design and architecture by challenging engineering to find innovative and efficient solutions. Champion product quality and improvement 
  • Maintain an awareness of major industry trends, competitive feature landscape and developing appropriate prioritization

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on developing payment software solutions including the processes, integrations, and economics  
  • Experience working with different types of vendors for: API integrations, reconciliation, payment flows with failed payments and delayed settlements 
  • Experience documenting requirements, user stories, and specifications from business teams
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic mindset on leveraging qualitative and quantitative data with strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong understanding of consumer payment regulations, NACHA rules, and card network rules
  • Competence in SQL is a plus

Base salary range: $171,000- $209,000 annually.  Individual pay is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and other job-related reasons.
