As a Principal Product Designer at Kaizen Gaming, you will hold a pivotal role in driving the design vision and execution for our sportsbook products. This position requires a balance of high-level design thinking and hands-on design work, crafting seamless user experiences for our web and mobile platforms. You will work closely with product teams, including researchers, product managers and engineers, to deliver designs that embody the strategic goals of the company while pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the GameTech industry.
You will be part of a growing design team that is continuously improving our product experience. You will be responsible for a wide range of design activities for our web and mobile applications, spanning from ideation all the way to high-fidelity prototyping. You will also be contributing to our ever-growing design system, building components and architecting new needs.
As a Principal Product Designer you will:
- Take ownership of major design initiatives, leading the concept to delivery with minimal guidance, and setting the standard for design excellence within the team.
- Serve as a mentor to less experienced designers, sharing knowledge and practices that bolster the team's growth and the quality of their output.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify user needs, conceptualize design solutions and validate designs through user research and testing.
- Innovate and iterate on design processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, design trends, and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive forward-thinking design decisions.
- Contribute in the development and refinement of the design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across all product offerings.
What You'll Bring
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in product design for web and mobile applications, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in design systems, high-fidelity designs and complex user flows.
- Mastery of design and prototyping tools. We use and love Figma.
- A proven track record of leading design projects from ideation to implementation, demonstrating strategic thinking and a user-centered design approach.
- Experience in mentoring and guiding other designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly to various stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the sportsbook or sports betting industry, or other transaction-intensive industries such as FinTech.
- A passion for sports and betting, with insights into the user behaviors and needs specific to this sector.
- Familiarity with usability testing, A/B testing, and other methods of design validation.
