Role Overview
Coupang is looking to hire a Sr. Analyst to lead Financial Planning and Analysis for Marketplace initiatives and the travel business. In this role you will collaborate closely with Marketplace and travel leadership. While the marketplace business is an established business unit the travel business is at an exciting crossroad targeting to become one of the leading players in the Korean market. You will be required to develop the operating and financial plan needed to achieve strategic plans and goals, drive decisions and track performance on growth, commissions, margins, cash flow and strategic initiatives. The role will also support modeling for new launches, supplier negotiations and customer analysis.
What You Will Do
- Working on key initiatives driving growth of Coupang’s multi-billion dollar marketplace business.
- Create and jointly own the travel financial and operational plan along with the travel business unit head.
- Forecast, track and update initiative analysis and modeling
- Call out variances, identify root causes and come up with business solutions
- Define key KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement through predictive analysis to grasp target progress in real time and take timely actions
- Analyze data and reporting
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years+ of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis in a fast-paced technology oriented organization.
- Experience in leading and developing new financial processes, models and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with non-finance leaders.
- Strong MS-Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Expertise in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Strong analytical thinking. Be able to start with problem statement, ask 5 Whys and arrive at data backed solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Online Marketplace/Online Travel Experience
- Chartered Accountant/CPA/CMA
- MBA or Master degree with specialization in Finance
- SQL (NoSQL), Tableau, Power BI
- Fluency in English

A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a “Request for Return of Hiring Documents” [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit the request to the Company (Coupang Recruiting Team, Tower 730, 570 Songpa-daero, Songpa-gu, Seoul). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. - In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all of his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
