About the role
The Principal Enterprise Architect is a key leadership position within Architecture, reporting to the Chief Architect. The primary objective of this position is to establish and maintain an enterprise architecture framework that aligns with SEEK’s strategic goals and objectives.
Key to the role will be to develop current state and future state enterprise models to support strategic decision making, collaborate with other architecture teams to develop architecture strategies and roadmaps, define and operationalize architecture principles, standards, patterns, and guidelines, and support the technology leadership team in building business cases for key technology capabilities.
The Team
Architecture is a key function in Technology made up of over 20 high-performing professionals focused on the mission of connecting strategy to delivery. We operate in an agile and evolutionary approach, doing the right amount of thinking up front to enable effective decision making and providing clear direction and recommendations to leaders and teams. The team is made up of four domains:
- Enterprise Architecture: provides a strategic framework to align SEEK’s processes, platforms, and data to achieve its objectives
- Customer Architecture: solves complex, cross-team challenges to build products that customers love, improves placements, and improves customer value and yield
- Platform Architecture: designs operationally efficient solutions that help SEEK to deliver faster, at lower cost, while improve productivity, and simplifying our architecture
- Growth Architecture: supports the teams solving new problem spaces by developing solution architectures and approaches to accelerate the path ot product market fit
- Architecture Practices: defines and operates the methodology and platforms employed to deliver constently high-quality outcomes at pace and on time – both by architects and scaled across SEEK

Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain an enterprise architecture framework that helps SEEK to make informed decisions, deliver with velocity, and realise material benefits in terms of cost optimisation, risk reduction, and simplification
- Ensure that the enterprise architecture supports SEEK’s business objectives and enables the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective technology outcomes that drive velocity, productivity, and simplicity.
- Develop current state and future state enterprise models, including business (e.g. op model, customer journeys and processes, etc.), data, application, and technology architectures, to support strategic decision making
- Define and operationalize architecture principles, standards, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all technology solutions
- Support the technology leadership team in building business cases for key technology capabilities needed to deliver the company's strategy
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, and incorporate relevant innovations into the enterprise architecture framework, strategies, and roadmaps
- Participate in architecture management processes (e.g. the Architecture SteerCo) to ensure that technology solutions align with the enterprise architecture framework and principles
- Proven track record of establishing and maintaining enterprise architecture practices, frameworks, and strategies that enable executive level decision making
- Deep understanding of, and hands on experience delivering, technology strategies that drive investment in foundational capabilities to support an organisations future state
- Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with senior non-technical and technical audiences
- Cross-industry experience with at least some spent with a product and engineering-oriented company like SEEK
- Have been in a leadership role within an Enterprise Architecture function
