Job Overview
The Global Security Architecture Organization is responsible for design & technology leadership in providing a comprehensive, purpose built defense framework by integrating various security components such as network security, identity & access management, data protection and product/application security.
Principal Security Architect serves as a technology domain leader, working closely with business, product and engineering leads to gain deep organizational understanding to design & implement world class cyber security framework. They will baseline and perform continuous posture & maturity assessment, design go-forward strategies & architecture, and provide organizational leadership to ensure timely implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Forming close partnership with various stakeholders, to design & implement interoperable and cohesive security control solutions
- Serve as a domain expert and a leading security technologist, providing mentorship and guidance to junior architects and engineers
- Leverage proven industry experiences to come up with optimal solutions for Coupang, reflecting organizational & security needs and priorities
- Responsible for continuous security posture maturity assessment and strategic roadmap
- Set the bar, framework and guidance w/ rigor and detail : Security Reference Architecture, Process Engineering, Interoperability, etc.
Background & Experience
- Strong technologist & domain expertise in at least two or more information security domains such as but not limited to Network Security, Application Security, Identity & Access Management, Security Architecture & Frameworks, etc.
- Technologist leader level experience (e.g. “Chief Security Architect”) with hands on experience as a thought leader, influencer, and executioner with proven track records of working with complex ecosystem
- Subject matter expertise at both strategic and deep-down hands on level with ability to navigate between executive brief to engineering details
- Working level expertise on modern Cloud Infrastructure & Platform (E.g. AWS, elastic workloads, stateful/stateless services, etc.) and expertise in modern security controls
- Proven track record of innovation in the security space
- Industry domain experiences (Big Tech, E-commerce, etc.) a plus
- International experience, ideally across Asia Pacific including Korea a plus
- Bachelor/Masters/PhDs in Computer Science or Engineering, Cyber Security, Engineering Management and/or Information Systems or a related field

Document Return Policy
- This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
- A job applicant, who has applied but not been finally selected for a position at Coupang (the “Company”), may request the Company to return his/her hiring documents submitted pursuant to the Fair Hiring Procedure Act. However, this will not apply where the hiring documents were submitted via the website of the Company or e-mail, or where the job applicant submitted those documents voluntarily without a request from the Company. In addition, if the hiring documents were destroyed due to a natural disaster or any other reasons not attributable to the Company, such documents will be deemed to have been returned to the job applicant.
- A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a “Request for Return of Hiring Documents” [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit the request to the Company (Coupang Recruiting Team, Tower 730, 570 Songpa-daero, Songpa-gu, Seoul). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. - In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all of his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
