Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Dry etch process area Technology Development and/or Pathfinding aspects for continued technology scaling of performance vs cost.
- All aspects of dry etch process engineering for Western Digital next generation memory development in front-end CMOS and back-end CELL fields.
- Design and conduct hands-on, experimental of etch (RIE, IBE, etc) for a broad range of projects and emerging technologies such as non-volatile memories.
- Structure patterning by reactive ion etch or ion beam etch using ultra-high vacuum etch equipment.
- Understand the process tooling and work with equipment and material suppliers to drive the development of new processes and process equipment and material qualification.
- Performing characterization of etch results by metrology tools. Collect, analyze, present and report etch and characterization data, results and conclusion.
- Develop and optimize processes in sigma, cycle time, throughput, defects, and cost of ownership.
- Collaborate with cross-function team, such as integration, yield, device, R&D plus other modules to improve overall product performance, on new product development and transfer into next stage.

Ideal Candidate Skills & Expectations
- 3+ years (Ph.D.) or 5+ years (M.S.) of semiconductor industry with R&D dry etch experience on advanced memory or logic field.
- Solid knowledge on semiconductor physics, fabrication and general semiconductor operation.
- Deliver a robust and cost-effective semiconductor manufacturing process.
- Familiar with dry etch process (RIE, IBE, etc) on DUV/EUV patterning, HMO (Carbon, dielectric or metal HM), emerging memory material, FEOL/BEOL via RIE, etc. and equipment hardware.
- Hands-on experience with metrology characterization, such as SEM, TEM, XRD, EELS.
- Good trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge on DOE for planning experiments and data analysis using JMP or other software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and on cross-functional and geographically team in a dynamic environment.
- Being self-motivation, and good project management skill.
