The Principal Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. It will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality code, designing and implementing robust data engineering solutions, designing and developing efficient SQL queries, and designing, building, and maintaining databases.
This role will utilize cloud-based technologies to build and deploy scalable applications, work with heavy data processing systems and databases, while ensuring adherence to standard application development, support, and best security practices.
The role also will train users, write training manuals as well as manage user support and feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead code development for projects as needed and necessary for the team’s success.
- Develop and maintain high-quality code using Python.
- Design and implement robust data engineering solutions.
- Design and develop efficient SQL queries.
- Design, build, and maintain databases.
- Utilize cloud-based technologies (AWS/GCP) to build and deploy scalable applications.
- Work with heavy data processing systems and databases.
- Implement and manage search technologies.
- Ensure adherence to standard application development, support, and best security practices.
- Lead requirements reviews with business partners. Plan releases and future product direction.
- Present designs to team members, larger audiences, and key executives within D&B.
- Champion your cause. Actively promote designs within D&B and potentially in outside conferences and meetups.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in software development and engineering.
- Proven experience in developing code with the latest Python technologies.
- Government experience in similar capacity and Government clearance an advantage.
- Extensive experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS/GCP).
- Hands-on experience with search technologies.
- Executive/Leadership interpersonal skills. Strong data engineering skills, including ETL and data migrations. Data analytics experience. Proficiencies in SQL and working in heavy data processing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Big Data Technologies, Hadoop framework, EMR, R, Pyspark, and Python preferred.
- Experience with geo-special data preferred.
- Strong written and communications skills a must. Must be able to document, present and articulatedesignsandtechnicaldecisionsinfrontofteamsandkeybusinessdesignmakers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills.
