Position Overview:
The Principal Contract Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of complex contracts from initiation to closeout. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and contractual obligations. The Principal Contract Administrator will act as the subject matter expert, providing guidance on contractual terms, risk management, and negotiation strategies. This role requires extensive experience in contract administration, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of contracts, including but not limited to service agreements, government contracts, reseller agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks within contract terms and conditions, propose solutions, and make recommendations to management to ensure risk is appropriately mitigated throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Lead contract negotiations with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring terms and pricing are aligned with business objectives and advising program stakeholders of potential risks.
- Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, government regulations, and applicable legal standards, including FAR/DFARS for government contracts.
- Tracking and reporting on the status of contract requirements and deliverables, as well as compliance reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of all contract activities, including amendments, renewals, and terminations within the company’s contract management system.
- Build and maintain relationships with customer representatives and stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Government as required.
- Participate in the preparation of solicitation documentation, proposal review, and negotiation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including executive leadership, finance, procurement, program, and operations to support contract objectives.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement in decisions making and work autonomously with guidance only for the most complex situations.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to contract compliance and provide the necessary documentation.
- Continuously assess and improve contract administration process to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in business administration or related field, or equal relevant experience and professional training.
- 10+ years of professional experience in contract administration with a focus on complex contracts.
- Thorough knowledge of FAR, DFARS, relevant contract laws and regulations.
- Expert level ability with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage projects effectively.
