Principal Consultant- SRE Manager 

Location: Bangalore

Level : M6/M7 (15-20 Years)

Shift Timing- 12:00-9:00PM

Proficiency:

  • Provide pro-active leadership to a team of 60+ India based SRE and Production Support Engineers
  • Manage both offshore and on-site team members
  • Leverage your SRE skills to ensure incidents do not happen
  • Work on service requests using the service management workflow, raised by Business Users and provide resolution
  • Work closely with business and technical SME's on any such requests as per the needs
  • Improve operational processes (such as deployments and upgrades) to ensure they are as uneventful as possible
  • Work along with the onshore support team to manage batch support of jobs feeding in data and delivering data to consumers
  • Work on minor enhancements/developments as prioritized by Business and deploy into production following the Change Management cycle
  • Debug production issues across services
  • Design, build and maintain core infrastructure that enables our client to maintain 8,000+ users
  • Provide weekly support activity / dashboard reporting and conduct weekly status meetings
  • Work independently and represent status on different tasks with SME’s
  • Implement methods for continually improving the support provided by your team
  • Responsible / manage regression / UAT test cycles

Desired Experience/ Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering or other relevant technical Fields
  • Comfortable leading SRE transformation activities, whilst maintaining existing Production Support Solutions
  • Deep skills in systems (operating systems, storage subsystems, networking), whilst implementing best practices for availability, reliability and scalability
  • Verifiable interests in algorithms and distributed systems
  • Experience scripting on Unix/Linux using Bash, Perl, Python etc.
  • Database application development experience (Oracle, SQL Server etc.)
  • DevOps SME with exposure to FinOps considered an added benefit
  • In depth knowledge of trading platforms (front to back)
  • Must be considered an expert and go to person regarding Informatica and Batch Job Schedulers (TWS / Autosys)
  • Build monitoring solutions that alert on symptoms rather than on outages
  • Strong experience with BI tool’s preferably Qlikview
  • Significant multi year experience working within SRE, DevOps and Production Support
  • Performance troubleshooting and tuning experience
  • Ability to operate with a managed services mentality and utilize Agile methodologies to accomplish all tasks
  • Financial Services Industry experience
  • Knowledge of Cloud – AWS, Azure and Snowflake would be considered a big plus

Soft skills and other attributes

The candidate will need to demonstrate a substantial familiarity in the technologies and processes involved, though it is not expected that any one candidate will have experience in all

Past experience of having worked in Operations and Support in organization will be an add on

Strong coordination skills to work with stakeholders across geographies with good and clear communication skills.

An ability to honor the commitments made to the stakeholders.
