About the Job:
As a Principal Consultant – Capital Markets Regulatory Initiatives, you will work alongside industry experts within FRC and our Capital Markets group in a fast-paced team setting. This role is based in New York at requires ability to work from client and/or Capco offices.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Deliver risk management and/or regulatory initiatives for our capital markets clients; current examples include SEC rules for US treasury central clearing, securities lending transparency (SEC 10c-1), and securitization conflicts of interest (SEC 192)
- Manage mid-sized projects and consulting teams, taking oversight of delivery work and ensuring client satisfaction
- Develop deep subject matter expertise in capital markets-related regulations (SEC, CFTC, FINRA, others)
- Own relationships and work directly with client program sponsors to set the goals of the initiative as well as plans to ensure the program is successful
- Develop project plans and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful completion within deadlines
- Provide regular status reporting and adhoc senior management presentations for program sponsors, steering committees and working groups
- Cultivate and manage a pipeline of work with clients; identify incremental sales opportunities while managing project delivery
- Develop thought leadership content, take a leadership role in proposal responses, and participate in client pitches
- Engage with practice leadership in regular client and solution planning discussions
- Provide insightful career advice and feedback for team members to empower their careers
What You’ll Bring with You:
- 7+ years of risk management and/regulatory experience within capital markets; experience working within financial services consulting preferred
- Strong understanding of capital markets; specific experience with securitized products, securities lending, and/or US treasury trading/financing products preferred
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory topics pertaining to capital markets, particularly SEC, CFTC, and FINRA rules
- Confident self-stater who can work under pressure, using your own initiative to meet deadlines and see tasks through to completion
- Excellent communicator and influencer, ability to build relationships at all levels from a range of departments and business areas
- Highly organized, able to drive projects and simultaneously prioritize individual tasks
- Able to operate independently and use sound judgement when in interacting with senior risk clients
- Ability to drive completion of project deliverables that exceed client expectations
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
