We are recruiting a Pricing Specialist to join our operations team in Rotterdam where you will work within our sea freight team to effectively and profitably negotiate rates via excellent supplier management skills as well provide quotes and produce key strategic data for our teams. Job Specification
- Negotiation and Rate Management:
- Negotiate competitive rates, ocean shipments.
- Develop and update tariffs to reflect market conditions.
- Monitor and control tender processes.
- Resolve rate disputes with suppliers.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Prospect and manage suppliers based on requested routes.
- Data Management:
- Maintain the ocean freight rate database.
- Ensure accuracy of rate uploads and carrier master data.
- Generate reports on ocean product statistics.
- Analyze trade flows and procurement data.
- Quotation
- Process price inquiries (local and global).
- Strategic Analysis:
- Develop strategies to maximize quotation closure rates.
- Execute improvement initiatives for rate management processes.
- Analyze volumes and allocate loads efficiently.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with sales and operations teams.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Report performance and track indicators set by pricing management.
- Create standard operating procedures for recurring business.
- Generate monthly evaluations and statistics.
Person Specification
- Must have Ocean Pricing experience with experience of negotiation and rate management as well as being very familiar with developing excellent supplier relationships, quotation activity, updating key information on an Ocean database and using it for strategic analysis.
- English language fluency with ideally Dutch language skills
- Excellent negotiation skills, able to maintain positive relationships with suppliers and gain very favorable rates/deals for the business
- Well developed, verbal and written communication skills
- Very much a team player, who enjoys a positive and highly supportive work environment
- Great customer service ethic, wants to deliver a high-quality experience to clients
- Willing to learn more and develop via training
- Open to further development
