Spectra Logic is seeking a seasoned Lead Pre-Sales Architect to support and drive our sales efforts across Europe and the Middle East (EMEA). As the Lead Systems Architect, you will play a crucial role in advancing Spectra Logic's strategic goals in the region. You will provide technical expertise, strategic guidance, and leadership to both the EMEA Systems Architect (SA) team and the sales force. This position is ideal for a senior technical leader with a deep understanding of storage technologies, cloud storage, enterprise IT, and networking.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Technical Sales Support: Collaborate closely with the EMEA sales team to deliver technical expertise during sales engagements. Participate in customer meetings, providing insights on Spectra Logic's products, technologies, and solutions that address customer challenges in backup, archive, hybrid cloud, data protection, and large-scale storage environments.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and mentor the EMEA Systems Architect (SA) team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer-centric solutions. Partner with the Regional VP of Sales for EMEA to align technical sales efforts with regional strategic goals and sales targets.
- Solution Architecture: Guide customers in designing and implementing solutions involving Spectra Logic products. Provide authoritative advice on workflows related to data protection, ransomware threat mitigation, hybrid cloud architectures, and large-scale storage installations.
- Technical Authority: Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal teams, leveraging your deep knowledge of storage technologies, including experience with backup, archive, hybrid cloud architectures, data protection, and security. While experience with Tape Libraries and LTO technology is a plus, it is not required.
- Customer Engagement: Engage with customers at both the technical and executive levels, understanding their unique needs and challenges. Develop tailored solutions that not only meet technical requirements but also align with the customer’s broader strategic goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to influence product development based on customer feedback and market demands.
- Sales Strategy: Contribute to the overall sales strategy for the EMEA region, providing insights on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to help drive revenue growth.
- Coaching: Demonstrate strong coaching skills to both technical teams and in sales processes, ensuring the EMEA SA team is highly capable and aligned with Spectra Logic’s objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in storage, networking, enterprise IT, with a strong focus on cloud storage and compute.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams and collaborating with sales leadership to achieve strategic goals.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of storage technologies and architectures, including backup, archive, hybrid cloud, data protection, ransomware threat mitigation, and large-scale storage environments.
- High-Performance Compute (HPC) and experience with NetApp, Veeam, Cohesity, and other data storage vendors is highly preferred.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, with a preference for individuals who have technical conversation skills in German and/or French.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and executive-level stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to straddle the line between technical expertise and strategic selling, understanding how to leverage technology to drive business outcomes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Tape Libraries and LTO technology.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the storage or data management industry.
EDUCATION:
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related business/technical field preferred
TRAVEL:
This role is expected to travel from an office or remote location to customer sites around the EMEA region as required, up to 50% of the time.
LOCATION PREFERENCE:
This position can be based anywhere in the UK, but preference will be given to candidates located within driving distance to Bracknell, England, in order to hold some office hours at our EMEA headquarters.
