⚡️ Your role
The PR & Communications Manager for Belgium will lead all local public relations and communications initiatives. The role is crucial for driving awareness of Fastned’s brand and services, managing external communications, and ensuring strong relationships with media, influencers, and stakeholders. This role requires a proactive approach to content generation, strategic thinking, and excellent project management skills. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including the marketing and network development teams, to support Fastned's growth in Belgium.
What will you be doing?
📌 PR Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a strategic PR plan for Fastned in Belgium, in alignment with the company’s mission and business goals.
- Craft compelling narratives that communicate Fastned’s value proposition and commitment to sustainable mobility.
- Proactively identify PR opportunities and leverage them to generate media coverage and positive brand exposure.
📌 Media Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, bloggers, and influencers within Belgium, ensuring Fastned’s presence in relevant media outlets.
- Act as the primary spokesperson for Belgian media inquiries and manage press releases, media statements, and interviews.
- Monitor media coverage and proactively manage the company's reputation in the media.
📌 Content Creation & Storytelling
- Create and oversee a range of content, including press releases, blog posts, newsletters, social media updates, and case studies to engage audiences and highlight Fastned’s growth and successes.
- Work closely with the brand and marketing teams to create visually appealing and compelling content.
- Generate ideas for new ways to tell Fastned’s story to resonate with local audiences.
📌 Event Planning
- Manage event planning and execution, including press conferences and corporate events. Actively contribute to promoting the organisation and engage internal and external stakeholders.
📌 Project Management & Reporting
- Manage PR campaigns, from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Measure and report on PR activities and KPIs to demonstrate impact and guide future strategy.
- Conduct regular assessments of the local market environment and competitor landscape, reporting insights to the broader team.
📌 Crisis Communication
- Develop and execute crisis communication strategies to protect the brand in times of adverse publicity or emergencies.
- Act quickly to address negative PR, coordinating with the global team to maintain brand integrity.

Working in a scale-up organisation means that you need to be eager to take on challenges entrepreneurially. You excel working in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in PR and communications.
- Proven experience in media relations and proactive story pitching, with a strong network of media contacts in Belgium.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch, French, and English with the ability to turn complex concepts into clear and engaging content under tight deadlines.
- A strong interest for sustainable energy and the EV landscape.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to idea generation and campaign planning.

- A home assignment to prepare and present to the Head of PR & Communications and the interim BE Country Director,
- Final conversation with the Director of the Commercial department and our Belgian team.
