POSITION OVERVIEW:

Location: Des Moines, IA office. We work on a hybrid schedule of 3 days/2 days WFH.

This role provides administrative support to insurance customers.  You will be part of the Preneed Claims Team, responsible for handling incoming customer requests, with limited phone interaction.  Other responsibilities include:

  • Update insurance policies and profiles to correspond with customer requests
  • Pay general death claims according to business and compliance requirements
  • Pay Texas death claims in regulation with the Texas Department of Banking
  • Complete Texas Claim reconciliations
  • Facilitate resolution of pending claims or service items in a timely manner
  • Support all department and strategic initiatives 
  • Assume shared responsibility for all team goals, processes and initiatives
  • Generate data for productivity and process measurements 
  • Identify and document standard operating procedures   
  • Assist as needed on team processes and projects

QUALIFICATIONS & NECESSARY SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in Financial Services industry with knowledge of life products, general rules and regulations preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent data entry and navigation skills
  • Demonstrates a professional communication style, both written and verbal
  • Expresses a customer orientation and desire to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
  • Works independently to meet individual productivity and quality goals
  • Participates as functioning team player with a consistent positive attitude and demonstrated positive behavior
  • Generates enthusiasm around change and adapts quickly when faced with challenges
  • Takes initiative to improve processes and work with team members to enhance effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Excellent attendance is essential for success
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Preneed experience preferred, but not required.
