Our Brand Studio team produces engaging content that resonates with our audience, and we’re looking for a skilled Podcast Editor to join us on a contract basis at ~30hrs/week. As a Mid-Level Podcast Editor, you will play a vital role in crafting high-quality audio content for our podcast series. You will collaborate with our creative team and clients to produce and edit engaging episodes that align with NerdWallet’s mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in podcast editing and client management, with an editorial flair to enhance our storytelling.

Where you can make an impact: 

  • Edit and assemble podcast episodes, ensuring high audio quality and seamless flow.
  • Collaborate with producers, hosts, and clients to understand project goals and deliverables.
  • Provide creative input on content direction and structure, helping to shape narratives.
  • Manage multiple edits simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
  • Consistently stay on top of tasks, manage priorities, and provide regular updates through wrike, our project management system.
  • Review and incorporate client feedback to refine final productions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in podcast production.
  • Collaborating closely with the editorial team to make key creative decisions, including content selection, music, and sound design, ensuring each episode reaches its full potential and resonates with the audience.

Your experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in podcast editing and production.
  • Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity) Understanding of Riverside a plus.
  • Experience working with clients and managing expectations effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A self-starter with strong organizational skills and a passion for audio editing.
  • Nice to have: Editorial experience or a background in storytelling.

Where:

  • This role will be remote (based in the U.S.) or Canada.

Pay Transparency & Contract Details:

  • The hourly range for this position is $65-$75/hour
  • This is a W2 contract role hired by Magnit
  • The estimated schedule for this engagement would be 32 hours per week from January-December
