Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced PMC Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning, start-up, testing, and turnover activities for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Commissioning Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that commissioning activities comply with project specifications, safety standards, and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Commissioning Manager in implementing and maintaining an effective safety process for all commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure commissioning schedules align with overall project timelines.
- Review EPC contractor’s commissioning procedures, plans, and documentation for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Supervise commissioning activities, including start-up and functional testing, to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Monitor and report progress of commissioning activities, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for potential issues during commissioning.
- Coordinate with the EPC contractor and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless execution of commissioning activities.
- Assist in the preparation and review of turnover documentation and ensure all deliverables are completed for project handover.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are followed during commissioning to maintain compliance with international standards and project specifications.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to the Commissioning Manager for inclusion in overall project reports.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

Experience:
- 10-15 years of experience in commissioning and start-up activities, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline projects.
- Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
