Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced PMC Cathodic Protection Engineer (Construction) to manage and oversee all cathodic protection activities for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The Cathodic Protection Engineer will ensure the design, installation, and maintenance of corrosion prevention systems comply with project requirements, international standards, and safety protocols. This role requires technical expertise in cathodic protection and corrosion control, along with experience in large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and oversee the implementation of cathodic protection systems for the pipeline project.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards (e.g., NACE, ISO), and regulatory requirements.
- Perform field inspections to verify the proper installation and operation of cathodic protection systems.
- Conduct soil resistivity surveys, potential measurements, and current distribution analysis to assess system performance.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure the integration of cathodic protection systems into overall project designs.
- Address and resolve technical queries (TQ) and provide solutions for cathodic protection challenges during construction.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including design calculations, inspection reports, and commissioning records.
- Support commissioning and handover activities by verifying the functionality and effectiveness of cathodic protection systems.
- Promote adherence to HSE policies and ensure safe working practices during all cathodic protection activities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Corrosion Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

Experience:
- 8-12 years of experience in cathodic protection and corrosion control, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline construction projects.
- Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
