This role performs a wide variety of plumbing tasks, including inspection, upkeep and repair, in an educational environment.
Essential Functions
Provide quality plumbing services under the supervision of the electrical foreman Ensure code compliance through proper installation of plumbing components
Responsibilities
Installs, repairs, and maintains pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in educational structures Collaborates with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals Follows building plans and blueprints Responds to, diagnoses, and resolves plumbing emergencies Performs routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling and electrical work as required Prepares bids, budgets, and cost estimates Keeps accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed and materials used Is skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade Has knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices Has ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings Familiar with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted Excellent problem solving skills Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements
Qualifications
One year of similar experience preferred; 1-3 years experience as a journeyman plumber highly desirable Possess state plumbing license Possess valid driver’s license Must be 18 years of age or older Backflow experience preferred
