THE POSITION

PLT Division Lead Supervisor

IMPROVEMENT OF PRODUCT AND PROCESS:  

Assist/support process engineer in continuous improvement of processes and systems.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT, Six Sigma, KAIZEN, TQM, TPM:

Drive departmental improvement initiatives in  six sigma, Kaizen, TQM and TPM.  Leads and facilitates KAIZEN teams.  Act as a team member on other work group teams and manage Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement projects. 

DEPARTMENTAL MANAGEMENT:

Act as the Team Leader for the business unit team.  Provide relief for the on shift production supervisors as required.  Act as temporary Department manager in the managers’ absence. Responsible for organizing manning, discipline  and training follow-up. Guides shift supervisors.

Assist in daily trouble shooting of manufacturing process in area of responsibility.  Administers and develops communication activities in regards to Plant and Departmental activities. Coordinates, tracks and manages the Departmental Manager and Shift Supervisor meeting process.  Primary responsibility for the Departmental Visual Management process.  Coordinates daily employee communications initiatives.  Insures departmental technical compliance to all mandatory requirements including Safety, Environmental, ISO, Quality, Plant policy, Corporate policy, etc.  Designs and develops departmental training programs.  Assists with the development of instructional programs.  Identifies/incorporates best practices and lessons learned into program plans.  Ensures maintenance of instructional programs, departmental work instructions, quality records, training records, etc.  Audits personnel performance and insures corrective actions where deficiencies are identified.

Basic Qualifications:
Associates Degree

3-5 years supervisory experience

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is not able to offer visa support
