Platform Training Consultant

Role Purpose:

The Platform Education and Communication SME is primarily responsible for the provision of an effective and scalable education solution for the Whitespace Platform, accessible to all users, through self-service SaaS in-Platform functionality and secondarily where necessary to supplement with delivery of in-person training.

Main Responsibilities:

Platform Self-Service Education

  • Identify Platform education needs
  • Provide business leadership and specification on the development and implementation of SaaS training content (videos, knowledge base, tool tips, guides etc), collaborating closely with the Technical Author.
  • Maximise the Platform’s use of SheperdJS (a lightweight and customizable library that lets you create interactive tours for your web applications)
  • Provide Insurance business context guidance and support to the Platform Technical Author
  • To collaborate with Platform Support and Account Management teams on problem areas, frequently asked questions and form strategies to deliver answers and provide guidance in a suitable, accessible format.

Client Training:

  • Prepare and maintain training materials including lesson plans and user guides.
  • Deliver user training (both in-person and online) based on the objectives and requirements of the client.
  • Provide advice and guidance to clients on training options based on wider team’s experience of training.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to determine best training path for customers and understand client nuances.
  • Develop an effective feedback mechanism to aid with continuous improvement of training.
  • Remain up to date on Platform functionality and releases.

Whitespace Training

  • Deliver training sessions according to the recruitment timelines for new staff.
  • Delivery of Platform Release showcases – demonstrating new features to Whitespace and VSBS
  • Any other duties commensurate to the grade of the role.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential

  • Comprehensive knowledge of processing (re)insurance business in the Lloyd’s and London Market.
  • Practical experience of designing and delivering SaaS In-App training formats
  • Practical experience of designing and running user training courses, both face-to-face, hands-on and remotely.
  • Advanced level of written English and understanding of English grammar
  • Ability to listen and learn how to fully demonstrate the Whitespace Platform.
  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Office software suite or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Experience of recording and narrating training videos and using the relevant software editing tools.
  • Soft skills training experience.
  • Implemented innovative solutions for education and training in a software products business.
  • Coaching for better performance.
  • Product demonstrations.
  • Business Analysis & Consultancy.
  • Happy to work independently once comfortable with requirements.
  • Prepared to travel to different locations in the UK (and sometimes abroad) with occasional stays away from home.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Project management skills: time management, internal stakeholder management, prioritisation, communication, diary management.
