Attached to the Head of Operational Excellence, we are looking for Platform Staff engineers to join our platform team!
Operational Excellence (OpEX) in Cloud Operations is an approach that focuses on optimizing processes and systems within an organization to improve productivity, performance, and efficiency. It involves continuous assessment, refinement, and implementation of practices to drive consistent operational success. To enable autonomy and self-service for the teams and avoid fragmentation, we have adopted a product approach to our platform and offer products designed to meet the diverse needs of our internal engineering teams.
As a Platform Staff Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure, services, and products delivered by Believe’s Platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform is reliable, efficient, safe, resilient, and predominantly automated. Your role will involve implementing best practices, optimizing performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Mission
Activities
Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, SREs, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions with a product-oriented approach.
Provide technical support and guidance to engineering teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
Platform Development & Maintenance:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, delivery and management.
Deliver and maintain all platform product roadmap features delivered to our platform users.
Operational excellence
Observe and optimize platform performance to ensure high availability and reliability though au monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks and performance issues independently.
Ensure financial operations (FinOps) are integrate to remediation/healing.
Implement best practices ford into platform management to optimize cloud costs.
Implement and support robust incident management processes to quickly resolve platform issues and minimize downtime.
Compliance & Security:
Implement and enforce best practices across the platform.
Assist the security team in conducting regular security assessments and audits.
Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and guidelines as implemented by the CISO.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with emerging technologies and tech trends.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation and best practices.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the platform teams.
Experience :
5+ years of experience in a technical role, with significant experience in infrastructure engineering or a related field.
Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment
Certification or experience in relevant technologies (GCP, Kubernetes/Docker, CI/CD, Argo/Terraform, Crossplane …)
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools like GitLab CI.
Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Crossplane.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog.
Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash.
Understanding of security best practices and tools, including vulnerability scanning and compliance frameworks.
Experience with auto-remediation and self-healing systems.
Strong understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, and related infrastructure components.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
