Work under the general direction of Senior Regional Manager Capital cluster & PPS Manager, responsible for development and implementation of strategy and negotiations relating to supply and pricing of Indirect Materials & Capital Goods for the location and align with other North American locations. Long term objective to establish optimum internal customer support, motivated supply base through pooling volumes, and use of common strategies in order to maximize contributions to the operating profit of the plants as well as the North American Region.
- Purchase Management – planning, forecasting, source evaluation, negotiation, implementation and commodity investigation. Strategies and actions defined together with Corporate Purchasing, focused on the activities within location/Plant with annual purchase spend over >5T€, and total PVO of +20 Million EUR.
- Negotiate new and existing contracts in legal, logistical, commercial and partly even technical terms and steer the implementation for the assigned location.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and alternatives, build relevant strategy together with Corporate Purchasing while ensuring agreements of all parties (Plants, Engineering, etc.).
- Supplier Management - maintenance of service contracts and suppliers. Control of information flow to suppliers and negotiations on all issues together with Corporate Purchasing.
- Provide support for existing tools and best practices, as well as continuous education of Purchasing Policies and Procedures to internal stakeholders.
- Adjustment and optimization of existing applications and reports according to requirements of Corporate Purchasing including interface management to existing tools and solutions
- Develop and optimize purchasing processes by increasing automated procurement solutions as well as improvement of the existing database
- Customer satisfaction responsibilities including: representing indirect purchasing during plant visits and/or home plant environment, as well as developing and implementing actions to support individual plant locations
- Academic degree in business administration, engineering or comparable qualification
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Purchasing (or similar functions) of large companies with international background
- Experience in project management
- Knowledge of MS Office tools as well as in SAP R/3 and World Class Sourcing Platforms
- Very good English language skills written and spoken
- Affinity for cooperation with people and intercultural competences
- Strong negotiating skills, persuasion and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, driving execution
- Creativity, reliability, integrity, teamwork, operates with global perspective
