Position Overview
As the Plant Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of our manufacturing site. This includes managing in-house processes such as injection molding and assembly (semi-automatic processes), quality control, production planning, logistics (both internal and external), and the continuous improvement of operational processes. You will work closely with the corporate Chief Operations Officer (COO) to align with the overall operations strategy while making daily decisions in collaboration with local CEOs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire manufacturing process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage and optimise in-house production processes, including injection molding and semi-automatic assembly.
- Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to meet and exceed industry standards.
- Coordinate production planning to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Supervise internal and external logistics to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Define the strategy of the plant aligning with corporate operations strategy, ensuring consistency and compliance with group policies.
- Report key metrics and progress to the corporate COO and work closely with local CEOs for daily operational decisions.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plant Director or similar leadership role, ideally within the automotive industry or as a sub-supplier to the automotive sector.
- Desirable experience in a role abroad.
- Strong background in manufacturing processes, particularly injection moulding and assembly.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in operational processes.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor, manage and motivate teams.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to define and implement processes
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
