About the Project
Our client has been awarded a marine works project on the island of Saba, aimed at enhancing maritime infrastructure, improving accessibility, and supporting economic growth. The project involves the construction of breakwaters, quay walls, dredging works, and associated civil works.
We are hiring a Planning Engineer who will be based on-site!
As a Planning Engineer – Civil & Marine Works, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, and ensuring alignment with engineering and construction activities. You will analyze project progress, anticipate potential delays, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to optimize project execution.
Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Integrate engineering, procurement, and construction schedules to ensure seamless coordination.
Analyze schedule deviations, assess potential impacts, and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare progress reports, S-curves, histograms, and other planning documentation.
Coordination & Monitoring
Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to align planning activities with actual site conditions.
Identify and monitor critical paths, key milestones, and resource allocation to ensure timely execution.
Provide early warnings on schedule risks and advise mitigation strategies.
Participate in progress meetings, offering expert insight into scheduling and planning-related matters.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure planning practices comply with international engineering standards and project-specific requirements.
Assist in the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis reports.
Maintain planning documentation in accordance with contractual and regulatory guidelines.
Marine & Civil Works Focus
Work exclusively on marine and coastal infrastructure projects, including breakwaters, quay walls, and dredging operations.
Apply expertise in marine construction sequencing, methodology, and logistics planning.
Collaborate with survey teams for bathymetric surveys and dredging progress monitoring.
How you will qualify
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
At least three years of experience in marine infrastructure, coastal, or harbour construction projects.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Strong understanding of marine construction methods, sequencing, and geotechnical principles.
Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and international engineering standards is a plus.
Personal Attributes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
You are fluent in English. Other languages are a plus (Dutch, other).
