We currently have a Planner position available for a motivated individual to join our team in Plymouth. Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £26,750 per annum plus excellent benefits.
 
About the role
Based within an operational area, The SPS Planner be embedded within the Waste Water Services Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) team to provide specialised support around all planned field activities. Working alongside the SPS Managers and Catchment Technician, the SPS Planner will act on feedback from both proactive and reactive field activity to create and report on a planned work schedule, including targeting any pollution hotspot areas. They will become an integral part of the SPS team, using their knowledge and experience to promote new ideas for ways in which to strengthen the performance of our sewage pumping stations and implement them under our Pollution Incident Reduction Plans.

What you’ll be doing:

  • To schedule all planned work for the Operational area, Major and Minor servicing, sump cleaning and contractor appointments.
  • Track, manage and raise/remove Maintenance Schedule Tasks, adjusting their frequency and/or work instructions based on feedback from contractors and operational teams carrying out the work.
  • Report regularly on adherence to schedules and highlight to Team Manager and Operational team where MST’s have been missed.
  • Manage any further work associated with planned activities, tracking it through to resolution. Identify Investment Manager submissions for RIO / H&S and Planned Need Statements
  • Identify asset data quality issues and inform the SPS Manager to ensure these are resolved and where required propose improvement actions for better asset performance.
  • Support the SPS Managers with their investigations, providing cover for them in their absence.
  • Maintain excellent relations with customers, public authorities, other bodies and work colleagues
  • Support the business in the event of environmental incidents.
  • Take part in an OOH rota if required.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in work planning and scheduling
  • Map/Plan reading skills to be able to interpret complex information in schematic form and construct recommendations.
  • Ability to analyse data to provide evidence for business decisions
  • Previous experience working on own initiative and/or working as part of a team.
  • Some experience of working in a wastewater services operational
  • Environment or similar 
  • Minimum of 5GCSE’s or equivalent, including English and Mathematics at grade C or above.
