A bit about the role

A great opportunity to join Avaloq Core Platform Division as a Software Engineer for Payment & Custody domain. The ACP division is dedicated to building on our solid 25+ year reputation of delivering a streamlined core banking solution allowing banks and wealth managers to optimally serve their customers. We want to accelerate client requests that enhance our product and develop a clear roadmap for the Avaloq Core Platform. We want to strengthen the focus of our teams and enable efficiencies while retaining their cross-collaboration abilities. 

Your key tasks

  • Closely collaborate with the Product Owner, Business Analysts and other Software Engineers.
  • Design, develop and maintain thought-out solutions within the team’s responsibility.
  • Improve and optimize existing functionalities.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for your area of expertise.
  • Work with colleagues from different locations and cultures.
  • Participate in Agile practices and ceremonies and working according to the Agile principles.

A bit about you 

  • University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant software development experience.
  • Proven practical experience in software engineering focusing on relational databases (Oracle PL/SQL, Postgres, MySQL).
  • Good understanding of object data modelling.
  • Eager to learn and understand the business needs to provide clean designs and high-quality code.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical mind with a structured and autonomous approach to work on complex technical and business questions.
  • Passion for software development and an interest in the banking / finance industry.
  • Fluency in English.

It would be a real bonus if you have

  • Experience in Avaloq Technologies.
  • Previous experience on the banking business.
  • Experience in working with Agile methodologies.
  • Italian language skills.
