Position Summary:
We are seeking a Scientist for the In Vivo Pharmacology group who will be responsible for independently developing and performing in vivo studies in animal models across multiple disease areas, including inflammation, oncology and metabolism. This individual will interact seamlessly with Discovery Biology and other Research groups to help execute on company strategy. The major focus of this position will be the in vivo evaluation of novel biologics, small molecules and genetic therapies across multiple programs to support programs from target validation to identification of clinical candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement in vivo efficacy and PK/PD models to support assessment of lead small molecules, antibodies, peptides and genetic modalities, with a focus on disease-relevant endpoints, PD, and target-specific biomarkers.
- Collaborate closely across functions such as in vitro pharmacology, DMPK/Tox, and translational sciences to advance programs to development candidate and IND-enabling studies.
- Represent the in vivopharmacology function on drug discovery project teams, supporting assets across diverse therapeutic areas and modalities.
- Participate in cross-functional collaborations to advance broad company goals and objectives.
Basic Requirements:
- Degree in biology or a related scientific area (PhD, MSc with 2+ years of experience, or BS with 5+ years of experience). Industry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in mouse models of oncology, inflammation and/or metabolism.
- Proficient in standard in vivotechniques (animal handling, blood collection, dosing (SQ, IV, IM, and IP), necropsy, tissue dissections).
- Expertise in flow cytometry (panel design, general principles, sorting etc.) is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency with other general laboratory techniques including cell culture, qPCR, ELISAs etc.
- Ability to analyze, summarize scientific data, and clearly communicate update and report with the team and stakeholders, and perform detailed documentation of experimental results via ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook)
- Proficient in scientific software (e.g., GraphPad Prism)
- Understanding of the general drug discovery process, from target identification and validation through regulatory filing
- Excellent communication skills
- Collaborative mindset and a willingness to work with different teams
- This position is on-site in Cambridge, MA and requires hand-on experience and being in the lab and vivarium. Ability to work on weekends on a rotating schedule.
